Four on a Couch is a strategic game that tests your listening and memorization skills. The goal of the game is to have four players from the same team occupy the “couch” at the front.
Set up the game with two teams, usually boys versus girls. If the number of players is uneven, inform the group who is playing for which team. Alternatively, teams could be divided by an easily identifiable characteristic.
Before the game starts, each player receives a piece of paper with a random person's name on it. This name will be the player's designated name for the duration of the game.
All players, including those on the "couch", sit in an alternating order (boy, girl, boy, etc.) in a circle, ensuring that there is one empty chair to the left of a player.
The game starts when the person on the left of the empty chair calls out a name. The player who has that name written on their paper will stand up and move to fill the empty seat.
The cycle continues with the new person that has an empty chair to their left calling out another name.
The strategy involves remembering the names of players on your team in order to call them to the front, while also remembering names of the opposing team to remove them from the front seats.
Remember, the aim of the game is to get four members from the same team on the couch at the front. Good luck and have fun!
