Small group game, Quick to learn

Driver Game

Description:

Get ready for an exciting challenge with our game - "Driver." It is designed as a fun yet insightful precursor to learn about the importance of concentrating and listening to God amidst the bustling world around you.

Required Materials:

  • Obstacles (like tables, chairs, boxes, etc.)
  • Enough space to set up a maze

Formation:

This game is best enjoyed in multiple triads or teams of three.

How To Play:

  1. Set up a maze or course using chairs and tables or any other obstacles around which the teams have to navigate. Feel free to get creative with the setup.

  2. Next, divide your group into teams of three. The roles within each team are as follows:

  • Role 1: The Driver - This person has to navigate the team around the course. However, there's a twist: the driver's eyes should be closed or covered with a blindfold. A further layer of challenge can be added by spinning them around a few times to lose their sense of direction.

  • Role 2: The Navigator - This team member's task is to guide the driver by giving them precise directions. For instance, they can instruct, "Go straight for 5 steps, stop, now turn right."

  • Role 3: The Distraction - This person's primary job is to distract the driver. They can sing, compliment the driver's hair or talk about the driver's favourite sports team, essentially anything that can diverge the driver's attention.

  1. The teams can now start the game. The objective can be to reach a certain point in the maze and back, or to complete a set number of laps around the course.

The ultimate moral of the game is reminiscent of our relationship with God - listening to God (depicted by the navigator in the game) can be challenging when you're constantly surrounded by the worldly noises (represented by the distractor). So, the goal here is to hone that focus and learn to 'git gud.'
