Big group game, High energy, Quick to learn
Newspaper Game
Materials
- Newspapers
- Chairs
- Box (for storing newspapers)
Formation
- Single group placed in chairs facing inwards
How to Play
- Roll up a minimum of two newspapers to use as batons and place these in the center of the circle formed by the players sitting on chairs.
- Select a starting player. This player must head to the middle of the circle, pick up one of the rolled-up newspapers, and use it to lightly tap someone else in the circle on the knees. Afterward, the attacker must return to the center of the circle, deposit the newspaper, and rush back to their seat.
- The player who was tapped must then grab a newspaper, and aim to 'whack' the fleeing player before they manage to sit back down in their seat.
- If the tapped player succeeds in hitting the attacker before they can sit, the attacker must repeat their turn. If they fail, the tapped player assumes the role of the attacker.
- The new attacker will now have to tap another player with the newspaper, drop it off at the center, and return to their seat. The game continues this cycle.
